Newcastle Quays Christmas Market Returns with Over 70 Independent Stalls for Free Family-Friendly Weekend

Get your Christmas shopping started early! The festive season kicks off early as the highly anticipated Newcastle Quays Christmas Market makes its grand return to Newcastle Quays Retail Park (formerly Royal Quays, North Shields). Taking place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th November 2026, this year’s winter spectacular is set to be the biggest edition yet, transforming the shopping centre into a bustling festive shopping experience with over 70 independent stalls trading across the weekend and a visit from Santa on both days.

The event is a collaboration between community event experts Kelly Hodgkiss and Gaby Zak from Here You Belong, and the Centre Management team at Newcastle Quays Shopping Centre. Following a successful year of delivering multiple events at the shopping centre, championing independent North East-based artists and traders and bringing together the local community, the team will be delivering their biggest market experience to date. The centre boasts a fantastic selection of shops that families can browse while visiting, from established brands like Next Outlet, Clarks Outlet, Pavers Shoes, and Roman. For family leisure, tech, and everyday essentials, we feature fantastic destinations like the Arcade Warehouse Gaming Centre, Cue & Darts Lounge, The Works, Poundland, Hallmark, The Card Factory, Dreams, and Planet Pets, alongside unique local businesses like First Come First Served, House of Bébé, Olivia’s Baby Boutique, and more. To ensure true inclusivity for grassroots traders and new start-ups, stall applications remain open at an affordable rate of just £15 per table each day. Businesses committing to the full weekend will also receive an additional £10 discount for trading on both days.

• Public Transport Routes: Highly accessible via direct public transport links.
  • From Newcastle City Centre: Hop on the Tyne & Wear Metro Yellow Line from Monument or Central Station directly to Percy Main or Meadow Well stations (just a 19-minute journey followed by a short 10-minute walk to the centre). Alternatively, take the direct Go North East 327 bus departing from Central Station (Bewick Street) straight to the Royal Quays area.
  • Local North Tyneside Routes: Use the Stagecoach 317 bus (connecting Wallsend, Percy Main, and Whitley Bay) or Go North East 19 / 319 services. Visitors arriving from South Shields can use the Stagecoach 10 or 11 bus routes crossing directly to the retail park.
